
Announcing 12 Certified Six Sigma Yellow Belts
The University of Wyoming’s College of Business
and Supply Chain Management, in partnership with Transformance Advisors, hosted an online Certified Six Sigma Yellow Belt program designed to give students and working professionals hands-on experience with industry-standard process improvement tools.
The four-hour workshop introduced participants to the core principles of Six Sigma through practical, applied learning. Upon completion, 12 professionals successfully earned their Certified Six Sigma Yellow Belt designation. Earning their certificate marks an important milestone as they join a growing community of continuous improvement enthusiasts equipped with foundational Six Sigma knowledge.
The Yellow Belt program focuses on the essential concepts, methods, and tools of Six Sigma. Preparing graduates to contribute meaningfully to improvement efforts within their organizations. Participants are now equipped to support data collection and analysis, assist with process improvements, and help implement and monitor enhanced procedures across teams.
This collaboration strengthens the University of Wyoming’s connection to real-world industry practices while helping participants build skills that translate directly into workplace performance, efficiency, and problem-solving.

Research into Lean Six Sigma reveals it is much more about Six Sigma and tends to have very little about the rich features of a Lean Transformation. Lean Six Sigma will often treat Lean as a collection of tools, you can sometime use when you work on a Six Sigma project. Lean Transformations are much more than a collection of tools and you will not learn much about Lean in a Lean Six Sigma class.
