Tomorrow River Revisited

By Mike Loughrin, CEO for Transformance Advisors

Back to Wisconsin

Running between Plover and Manawa, the Tomorrow River trail stretches for 34 miles through farmlands and forests.

I traveled the middle part of this trail a few years ago. This trip is designed to see both ends. I will be on the Plover side on one day and then be on the Manawa end a week later. The Plover side is linked with a wedding I will be attending and the Manawa side will be on the day of the Loughrin family reunion.

The Tomorrow River trail is on an abandoned rail corridor of the old Green Bay and Western Railway (GB&W). This is a railroad which used to serve Fort Howard Paper Company way back when I worked there in Green Bay.

Plover

The west side of the Tomorrow River trail starts in Plover.

This is where the railroad track end and the crushed stone trail begins. There is a little overlap and we get to see some rail cars stored on the rarely used tracks.

It’s a hot day and I have brought lots of water. Fortunately, the trail is shaded with trees on both sides.

Time to head down the trail and see what there is to see.
