Q1 Update from Mike Loughrin
With the first quarter of 2025 in our rear view mirror, let’s list the most exciting accomplishments during Q1:
- In-person Classes Are Back
- Mara Becomes a Certified Lean Practitioner
- AI Agents Are Coming
- Sundance Film Festival Landing in Boulder
- Busy Second Quarter is Guaranteed
Each of the accomplishments deserve a closer look.

In-person Classes Are Back
We returned to a busy schedule of in-person workshops and classes.
Crane Service Inc. leveraged our LeanToday workshop to help their leadership team explore the opportunities provided by a Lean Transformation.
Hidden Valley Lake Community Services District launched their Lean Transformation program with employees and the board of directors participating in our Certified Lean Apprentice program and the leadership team kicked off their Lean projects by leveraging our Certified Lean Practitioner program.

Mara Becomes a Certified Lean Practitioner
Mara earned her Certified Lean Practitioner designation. Her Lean project eliminated waste in the value stream for our newsletter, the Transformance Communiqué.
It’s been amazing to see the positive feedback from our subscribers.
Thom Mandl’s feedback is: “Your newsletter has excellent content, is very inviting, and has a professional appearance. Rock on!”.
Mike Sheahan responded with: “Congratulations, Mara, on another great issue of the Transformance Communiqué! I thoroughly enjoyed the review of Lencioni’s book on The Ideal Team Player“.
AI Agents Are Coming
We launched a new project with Boulder SEO Marketing to develop “AI Agents” of our team. Boulder SEO Marketing will help us “train” AI Agents to create content which aligns with our personal experiences and writing styles.
I am going first and creations from “AI Mike” will be coming soon. I have started to wonder what I will do if AI Mike turns up at a conference giving a presentation with me in the audience!
We have also continued working with Boulder SEO Marketing on search engine optimization. The website pages for our Lean Transformation Program, Certified Lean Master, and Certified Lean Practitioner continue to rank #1 and #2 on Google.
Sundance Film Festival Landing in Boulder
We are thrilled, but had nothing to do with, the Sundance Film Festival moving to Boulder in 2027.
The nonprofit Sundance Institute’s Board of Trustees declared: “Boulder offers small-town charm with an engaged community, distinctive natural beauty, and a vibrant arts scene, making it the ideal location for the Festival to grow”. Our team at Transformance Advisors agrees completely.
Governor Jared Polis responded that: “Colorado is thrilled to welcome the Sundance Film Festival to its new home in Boulder starting in 2027. Here in our state, we celebrate the arts and film industry as a key economic driver, job creator, and important contributor to our thriving culture”. Again, we agree completely.
Having our headquarters in Boulder helps us be creative in leveraging new opportunities to improve our Lean Transformation program. Our program reflects today’s realities and improvements, such as AI Agents, and ensures we will remain viable in the future.
Busy Second Quarter is Guaranteed
The first quarter was busy and even more is coming in the second quarter.
New clients will begin their organizational improvement programs by leveraging educational grants facilitated by Manufacturer’s Edge, Colorado’s official Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) Center. The funding for training is through Skill Advance Colorado Job Training Grants. If you are a Colorado manufacturer, then contact us to see how you can benefit from training grants.
Other new clients, current clients, LeanToday workshops, and “routine” individuals taking our classes and exams will add to the excitement.
Don’t worry, I do have time set aside for getting out on bicycle rides and hiking in Colorado and other states.
